Llucmajor

Llucmajor is a small town in the northwest of Mallorca, about 15 km from Palma at the foot of Mount Randa. Llucmajor there is no tourism, hotels are not found here. History

Llucmajor there are artificial caves which were probably used as tombs. These should be created in 3000 BC. Remains still bear witness to the Bronze Age, found in the settlement Capocorb Vell. After the Moors, Arabs and Greeks came in 1259 under James I, the first Christian church in Llucmajor.
In the 20th Llucmajor century developed a center of shoemaking, and came to some prosperity.
Llucmajor is full of legends and fables. Thus, a giant have come with a bag of stones across the sea, have fallen at this place and the stones in the bag is now the mountain of Randa. Even King James III lost here in the middle of the 13th Century, both his life and his kingdom.
