Fornalutx

Fornalutx is located in the northwest of Mallorca and is in the mountains of Sóller in the midst of orange and lemon trees. The village is surrounded by olive groves. In May, the village seems literally to float because of the orange blossom. One says to the congregation, they would be the best in Mallorca. Walks, bike rides and hikes are still possible in its original form. A quiet tranquil village, which has received the original core of the village and beautified. Attraction of the village is that once a year out after the archaic customs a bull through the streets.

History

The history of the village was always connected to the neighboring town of Sóller, as both were by the year 1813 one administrative unit. In 1837 the constitutional rights have been recognized as an independent municipality. Fornalutx and its surroundings are both scenically and architecturally very interesting. The population is growing in recent years, mainly due to the influx of foreigners, a result of the tourist attractiveness of the village.
