Costitx

The small community with its 1023 inhabitants Costitx is on the main street Inca Sineu. The community lies in the flat Costitx part of Mallorca, where just about 200 meters high hill.
Costitx is due to the landscape very popular with walkers. There is no mass tourism. The central point is the marketplace where people meet on Saturdays at the market.
Attraction of the village is the only observatory in Mallorca, which is in operation since 1991.
The landscape is ideal for hiking, biking, horseback riding and wine tasting at the local wine farmers.

History

Costitx must have been inhabited already in prehistoric times, therefore testify archaeological finds. Like many small towns connected Costitx was always different communities. Today, the place to Sencelles.
The biggest discovery was found in the early 19th Century - three bronze bull heads from the Archaic period. The bull cult was already in the Mediterranean in early times unknown.
The finds are now in a museum in Madrid. Time and again, trying to buy back the landmark of the village.
